Think Outside The Vase

November 6, 2014

It’s easy to get stuck in a routine and floristry is no exception. Although your materials are constantly changing, the way in which we present them can get a bit samey… Vases can be expensive and unless you’re lucky enough to have several bunches of flowers on the go then they’ll end up gathering dust…

It’s official, we’ve put it off for long enough… Summer is over and Autumn is upon us. But it’s not all doom and gloom, I never need too much encouragement to don my warmest woollies and stay inside in front of the fire but with the change in weather comes the beautiful changes to our…

I think I can tick last Friday evening off my bucket list! I attended the Wedding Magazine  Wedding Blog Awards 2014 at the Savoy Hotel in London. The hotel is everything you want it to be from the glamorous and elegant entrance to the amazing flowers in the foyer to the incredibly helpful staff who were…

I couldn’t resist sharing the photos from this Summer wedding, the Brides family lives just round the corner from us at Hartley Farm. The couple married in the local Church and held their reception at a Hotel just down in the valley beyond the village. I loved creating Jenny’s bouquet, she wanted to keep it very delicate,…

Weddding’s in the South West

Living in the South west is really rather marvellous when you get to arrange flowers, especially wedding flowers in such fabulous places. I was a great fan of this wedding as the Bride was a florist {we tried not to get too nervous!} She had gorgeous taste in flowers and knew what feel she was…

We created this rather sumptuous and inspirational wedding at Orchardleigh last week. The Bride had a fabulous eye for detail and was very sure of the look that she wanted to create. Between us we had the fun of planning all the floral aspects via email as she was in the USA until the week before…

Court Farm ~ Standerwick

August 26, 2014

| Categories: Awards, Weddings

We decorated a fabulous venue called Court Farm at the weekend. It’s a 16th century farmhouse set in 10 acres of gorgeous English countryside. The couple got married at St Julian’s Church in Wellow about 15 min from the farm. It was lovely to fill the milk churns we used with delphinium, stocks, hydrangea, fever-few and…

I think we have truly hit wedding season…. So I thought I would share just a smattering of what’s been going on in the wedding world that is Young Blooms.   These jugs arranged on the tables at Orchard Leigh looked fantastic, the Bride chose a very relaxed selection of dahlias, blue & scabious {favourite…

A very relaxed wedding affair

July 15, 2014

I loved this wedding  at Orchard Leigh for it’s relaxed feel. I met the Bride about a year ago and over a coffee we browsed through magazines that she had brought for ideas. She was a huge fan of roses and there was a rather gorgeous floral spread of inspiration she had come across. So…
