Wrapping flowers part 3

Wrapping a bouquet, wiltshire florist

I’ve always had an interest in how bouquets of flowers are wrapped, it was one of the first things I learnt in my first flower shop job and I think the algorithm has learnt of my interest too! πŸ™‚ One thing I lack at the moment is access to prettier paper for this exercise but at least you get a clear example with brown paper and cream tissue. πŸ™‚ As you read through the steps, you will see the flowers I used are a very feminine mixture of pinks, peaches and lime green!

Items you need:

Two pieces of tissue

Four pieces of brown paper

Length of ribbon

Tape

Step One

Your first step is get a piece of brown paper and fold it in half as you can see, shift the two halves out slightly and then get scissors to make the two cuts you can see on my example. Its a Y shape that you make as opposed to a single cut that Ive normally done. The reason will become clear as we go on.

Check out the Y shaped cut that you need to make.

Step Two

I used two pieces of tissue paper, folded them in half length ways and laid the on the bench as you can see. I used to pieces of tape to hold them together. No scissor cuts are needed on the tissue.

Step Three

You then place your bouquet of choice on the paper and start to gather the tissue at the neck of the bouquet, take your time and get it how you want it. Pleating might help with the tissue to get it to sit nicely. You don’t need to use to secure it at this point.

The beauty of the Y cut is that it allows you to fold the paper more snugly about the neck of the bouquet. Do use a piece of tape to secure the brown paper once you have it around the flowers.

Step Four

To finish off the bouquet, you need to two more pieces of brown paper to be folded on an angle long ways as you can see in the picture below. Having two of these pieces will allow you to cover the stems and finish off the bouquet.

Step Five

Make sure you have a lovely piece of ribbon to hand to secure the two pieces of brown paper you’ve just added. Check out the picture below!

Hope you have enjoyed reading and found this helpful! πŸ™‚
