I thought I’d have a go at something a bit different this week. Schools are finished for the summer term and this might be a nice little project to keep the kids busy with….
- Piece of lace
- Scissors
- Rolling pin
- Cookie cutter
- Chopstick
- Jam jar
- Modelling clay (I bought a pack from one of the pound shops in town)
Step One:
Roll your ball of modeling clay out and use the cookie cutter to cut out circle. Obviously make sure the cutter is the right size to fit with your jam-jar.
Step 2
Cut to pieces of lace to lay flat on your rolled out clay, lay them on and roll over top. As you will see in the second picture below you get some lovely pattern work from the lace. π
Step 3
You now need to make holes in the circle with the chopstick for your flowers to be able to stick through. Don’t worry about making them all symmetrical, as you can see from my effort I just poked wherever! Make sure however that you push the chopstick right through otherwise as the clay dries the hole at the back can close up.
Step 4
Leave your circle to airdry on drying rack, once mine was dry I sprayed it black and you can see the finished design below! π
Have fun creating! xx
