I’ve been meaning to write this blog for an age. You know how some weddings stick in your head, well this one I’m going to show you certainly did. I can’t remember whether it was around the time of the first heatwave however our workshop kitchen is the coolest place to store bouquets hence this close up of our kitchen sink! 🙂
The wedding was held at the lovely Moonraker Hotel, a favourite of ours and a great place to decorate. We were under instructions from the bride to use a gorgeous palette of colours, peonies were her favourite but we were added in roses, astrantia, snapdragons, zinnia and much more.
I managed to get a quick snap of Jane carrying the bouquet before we sped off to deliver the flowers, the bouquet had a small amount of trail and was a very relaxed affair. I’m hoping we get photos back from the photographer soon.
The ceremony room has a fabulous fireplace which is perfect for decorating, so we dressed it to the max and added two elegant urns either side to finish the whole design off.
We finished off the ceremony with two urns, one to welcome guests in and then one at the top of the aisle which got moved to the reception space. Always sensible to get as much use out of your flowers as possible so do get your ushers to move flowers around in the day.
I think the reason we loved this wedding was the colours and textures we got to design with, I tried to have a look at what happens when you see colours that you love but it all got a bit technical. I think simply, sometimes for me it’s acknowledging the moments of joy that my job brings me and this was one.
