Wedding trends for 2019

It’s always fun to look ahead and see what the coming trends are going to be, choosing your style of wedding flowers can be overwhelming so I thought I’d pick out four trends that I love for you to enjoy and hopefully be inspired by. I’ve also created a Pinterest board with more inspiration on…

Hanging florals

Quite a number of couples who have booked Young Blooms to do their flowers are requesting a hanging floral design. Whether that’s in their marquee or ceremony venue and the beauty of this idea is that it can create huge impact and also save on space. We created this simple foliage design for this couple below, there was a fairly un-attractive silver bar hanging just above where they were due to get married so I covered it with a foliage garland and hung larkspur and soft ruscus down from it to draw the eye away from it.

If your having long tables in the reception but love flowers, why not go up into the ceiling. Alex and Tanya had a tipi wedding and opted to decorate the wooden hoop above the tables with gorgeous roses and foliage. You can see more of their wedding on Rock My Wedding here.

Stand out florals

Do you love colour, if you want to make a statement with your flowers then go for dahlia. They are going to be a go to flower for me in 2019. I love growing them and I love using them, from pom pom variety up to the gorgeous cafe au lait they are just fabulous.

Colour is back

Spicy red, sweet flamingo orange and rich purple. Blush and ivory seem to be walking out the door and colour is walking in!

You can be brave with colour and have pops of brightness. You might want to go for softer colours, but a touch of cherry red or bright pink might just bring everything alive.

Bringing outdoors in

One amazing wedding that we helped create last summer sums this idea up perfectly. You can create some real show-stopping designs with natures help. So if you’re a fan of the great outdoors, why not bring it in for your big day.
