I wanted to share this rather lovely autumn wedding. It’s been a year in the planning and came together beautifully on the day. The colour palette that the bride had selected was burgundy, orange, dark green and peaches, she sent over an initial mood-board which set the scene for her ideas beautifully. I then got free rein to pick the flowers, hence me being like an over-excited kid in a sweet shop when picking the flowers!
This archway was an absolute pleasure to create, using twisted willow and a wide selection of foliage. I created it to be a free-standing design. The bride had sent over a mood-board for me to take inspiration from. I wanted it to be a very relaxed and informal design and was able to make it an oasis free which is always a bonus.
There was such a wide selection of flowers in the bouquet, it was fun just to put one of something in – or four of another! There were no traditional ideas for this creation: the brown furry-looking flower was lovely to use and something I want to grow next year. I think its name is ‘hot biscuit’ and it’s an amaranthus!
When we got to the yurt to set up the table flowers, the cake company were there already. They created this rather stunning creation: blueberry and buttermilk, carrot and cream cheese, and chocolate and salted caramel! I can only imagine how amazing it tasted.
We created loose style foliage garlands for the tables and the bride had gathered containers, which we filled with a selection of complementary blooms. It’s an effective and easy way to fill a space – flowers really can finish off a space and bring it to life.
I loved working on this wedding and I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about it. If you are planning your wedding or event, then why not drop us an email and see how we can help?
