Summer weddings

There are couples you meet in your career who are just a lot of fun to work with. Kim popped into my flower shop about a year before her wedding, she’d been recommended to us by Eat 5 Star catering. They are a fabulous company who also run the Field Kitchen in Holt where Kim and Doug were holding their reception. We had a very brief conversation about flower-crowns, she booked and that was that!

You have got to love a bride when she lets you make a floral collar for her horse….

As the day drew nearer we began to look at decorating the reception venue and also added in some extra special details like her hair flowers and a floral collar for her Horse.

When it came to the venue, Kim wanted to keep flowers off the tables as they were narrower tables and lots of sharing boards would be moving up and down the tables.

So we went up into the ceiling….

What I loved about this design was that it gave a wow factor to the room as you walked in, it was in keeping with the more modern feel of the venue and was very relaxed in style. It suited this couple down to a tee!!

It was a fun creative process, working through ideas with the couple. Gathering ideas from pinterest and building a picture through visiting the venue and having discussions. It’s always a journey that you go on when planning your wedding flowers, so be prepared to look at possibilities, engage with your florist, pick their brains and most of all go with what you love!

Couldn’t resist sharing this little cutie….
