A rather gorgeous photoshoot

wearable flowers, wedding flowers

I’m beyond excited to finally share these photos! I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jackie from Fox and Beau Photography countless times, and every shoot with her is great fun. Our journey together started when we met in the new year and sparked the idea of creating a photoshoot inspired by a captivating image I stumbled upon on Pinterest. I’d shared that photo on Young Blooms’ Instagram, and it instantly ignited a conversation—people either loved it or really didn’t. That’s when I knew we were onto something unique, and I was determined to bring it to life.

Our team for the day consisted of myself, Hannah from HannahPowellHair and Antonia who modelled for us and has recently set up her own vintage clothing store which you can check out here.

My vision was to create two distinct styles—one that could work beautifully for a bridesmaid, and another that would be perfect for a bridal look. I wanted to explore how these pieces could be incorporated into a wedding day, sparking some creative ideas around their wearability. Could they be worn for a short but special moment, like walking down the aisle or during photos, and then removed afterward? It’s all about finding that balance between statement and subtlety, and I couldn’t wait to see how these looks would come together.

The flowers for this design were obvioulsy based around the vibrant blue of Antonias dress and also the start of Spring. 🙂

I used a mixture of helebores, pansies, narsisuss, scented geranium leaves, grape hyacinths and some heather.

We then tried the design around Antonia’s waist and decided it looked fab, would you try something like this with your bridesmaids?

The second look was more bridal, Antonia brought her wedding dress with her to the shoot and we think it worked a treat with the flowers we chose.

I’m curious to know your opinion on this design, it was very lightweight as we used mini orchids, jasmine, ivy and scented geranium leaves.

Hannah created a spray of orchids and jasmine for Antonia’s hair to finish off the design.

Collaborating with other creatives in the wedding industry is always such a joy, and it’s something I truly believe in keeping alive. There’s something so special about bouncing ideas off each other and letting that creative energy flow. We’re already planning our next shoot for the end of May or early June, right when British flowers begin to bloom, so we can incorporate them into the designs. I can’t wait to see what we come up with next!
