Now don’t blame me but we painted our front door bright yellow, so this year I decided to throw any idea of a traditional red and green door wreath out the window and go different! Before you start reading you might want to check out the actual colour of the door so click here…
My ingredient list for this brave new style was as follows….
- Crasspedia
- Grevilea
- achillea
- Spruce
- Honesty
- Mossed ring (if you don’t know how to do this then check out our youtube video by clicking here)
- Dried bracken
- Mossing pins (I used 3cm size pins)
I started by putting in the hook and then pinning in pieces of spruce. As you can see from the picture below, make sure to strip any foliage from the stem so that the mossing pin can do its job. Take your time getting the moss ring fully covered so work from outside edge into middle and then turn circle round and work on next section.
I always aim to get as much use out of a wrap of grevilea, so breaking each stem down in a bundle of leaves as you can see me holding below. They are super easy then to pin into the wreath and give that extra pop of sparkle.
You can see the finished wreath on our front door here. I know for me having a wreath on the door for Christmas is a very important tradition, there is some lovely coming up to your house. Seeing a wreath you have created yourself and enjoying the effect of it as you walk through the front door.
What do you think to the finished design?
