It was with great excitement that we did our first London wedding a couple of weeks ago, it was certainly an adventure for the Young Blooms team. The family lives in Wiltshire, but the bride lives and works in Richmond. We had a jolly early start on the day of the wedding, the van was stuffed full of gorgeous David Austin roses and yummy hydrangea.
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for the couple as by the time we got to the city it was a blinding hot Summer’s day! Though heat is always slightly terrifying for florist, I’ve found the trick is just to submerge everything in very deep cold water!
The wedding service was at Christ Church Kensington, with the reception afterwards in Richmond. We traveled down early to drop the bridal and bridesmaids bouquets off. You can see how stunning Hannah the bride looked with this gorgeous shot by my favourite wedding photographer James Green
Hannah carried this trailing bouquet of Juliet roses, deep pink peony, trailing jasmine, stocks and spray roses and a small amount of eucalyptus and the Bridesmaids had smaller bouquets of mentha roses.
We then drove over to the Church and tried to as elegantly as possible put these two huge arrangements in place. Using lots of gorgeous herbs and other foliage cut from the Not So Secret Garden as a starting point, we then filled the rest of it with hydrangea, zinnia, juliet roses and much more.
The couple were having cake and fizz after the service in the grounds of the Church so we framed the deserts table with these two fabulous creations!
