Inspirational wedding

Last Friday we were at Orchardleigh house setting up for a wedding. Both Laura & I were struck by the eye for detail & character that they Bride had, all the tables were beautifully dressed by the time we got there and we didn’t add a huge amount of flowers and what we did add was the finishing touch.

A very detailed affair

We created two other arrangements for the reception room and ceremony room which were filled with dried lavender, Swartzwalder burgundy calla, ivory roses and dried corn. The complementary shades of flowers & foliage worked beautifully together, creating a very warm palette of colour.

Orchardleigh have a fantastically large fireplace in front of which the Bride & Groom say their vows, it is a very gorgeous spot especially when the fire is lit and crackling away. With the warmth of the fire I’m hoping the happy couple had the lovely aroma of lavender drifting over them as they said ‘I do’ to each other.

The Bouquets and buttonholes were simple and dramatic. We wired light brown butterflies into the bouquets and wrapped the stems in a dusky brown ribbon.

Sometimes roses, gorgeous as they are can sometimes be lost on impact, but adding the  delicate butterflies gave the bouquet a very feminine and striking touch.
