A Christmas wreath worthy of No 10.

We had a slightly mad week last week as we were invited to No 10 downing street as part of the Small business Saturday celebration. 150 front-line workers were invited to Downing street to enjoy a selection of stalls, delicious food and also an amazing choir from the Manchester survivors choir. All topped off by watching the christmas tree lights being switched on.

We had great fun teaching all the guests how to make these very cute wreathes and even managed to teach the PM and his wife to make one too. 🙂

Ingredients

  • Wreath: We made these out of one length of virginna creeper as its super bendy and ours were 15cm wide.
  • Two bits of christmas tree
  • Two bits of eucaltypus
  • One length of ribbon
  • Wire or string to attach foliage.
  • Scissors
  • Dried orange slice (or you could use a Christmas Bauble or a pinecone?)

Step one

Layer one piece of christmas tree and eucalyptus on top of the wreath base and hold while you attach your wire and string to the stems to hold them onto the wreath.

Step two

Then you simply repeat the same on the other side of the wreath as you can see in the picture.

Step three

You need to attach your orange slice with a fine wire, just thread the wire through the slice and then attach over the top of the foliage and onto the wreath base.

Step four

Your next challenge is to tie a bow with the ribbon of your choice. If you need help then there is a useful video on our youtube channel which you can watch here. Fix the bow in the middle of the wreath and cover the other fixings and hey presto you have a super cute festive wreath that would look lovely on your Christmas tree? I also tried a slightly more festive ribbon so you can see which you prefer.

As you can see this is a super simple craft that you could do with your kids one afternoon? As always I hope you enjoy reading this and look forward to sharing more festive crafts and flowers very soon.

All our love

Grace & Arthur (who is snoozing on my lap as i type)
